Your entries stay in the browser
The shift calculator does arithmetic in the page. It does not send the values to this site, store a shift history or create an account. Site search loads a local page index and compares the words in your browser. Archive filter terms appear in the page URL so a filtered view can be revisited.
A display preference
The Day view / Night view control stores only your chosen display mode in browser storage. If storage is unavailable, the control still changes the current page and tells you that the preference was not saved.
Serving a website
Hosting and delivery providers process ordinary connection information needed to serve and protect a site, such as the requested address, network information and time. Search and the calculator do not load an advertising tracker or use an analytics identifier. The optional video player is described below.
External organisations
Membership, government services, video pages and social networks are external websites with their own conditions and data practices. They do not receive an application through this site. Review the destination and its privacy information before providing personal information.
An optional YouTube player
The historical film page shows a locally stored original preview first. Loading the player connects your browser to YouTube through its privacy-enhanced embed address. YouTube then receives ordinary connection information and applies its own data practices; pressing Play can trigger further processing. Closing the player removes the embedded frame. No connection to YouTube is needed to read the article, search the site or use the calculator. Read Google’s privacy policy before choosing to load it.
Historical records
Original publications may name contributors and people involved in events. A historic address, contact or application is not a request to send personal details there now. Use the current contact routes for today’s question.
